Write up in the Austinist!

The Austinist just did a piece on compilations, featuring several of our friends in the Austin Compilation racket. Though it seems as though we are defunct, with few postings and events, now seems like a good time to let people know, we are alive, well and still have a few tricks up our sleeves. We will have another cat-related event* (see Vol. 2 for our last one, Kitty Time R.I.P.), and a new compilation featuring many of the friends we have made since the release of Vol. 2.

The package design will likely be a collaboration between a wonderful musician/animator/community- organizer/designer Laura Goldhamer and Eric Archer’s totally awesome “money synth”. Since we are terrible at self-promotion and have tried to keep the compilations in a “word-of-mouth” circulation, we still have a few of Vol. 2 left! You can order them here, or if you want to help out in any way, drop us a line!

If you came to the second release party or either of the shows at my house (Hobbies Odd, see the blog posting of some SF artists for pics and video) you probably saw our beloved cat, Jelly Bean, sent from the heavens by Kitty Time himself. The old bugger, J.B. got hit by a car last sunday, suffering from a compound fracture for 2 days before he made his way home. His leg was unfortunately too far gone, and had to be amputated on monday. I forsee a benefit of some kind happening in the near future. Stay tuned!
